Stan Collymore claims he is ready to make a bid to return to the Premiership after five years out of football.
The 35-year-old striker has not played since walking out on Spanish side Real Oviedo in March 2001.

But he told the Daily Mirror: "I've had physical tests and I'm confident I will come back faster, stronger and fitter than I ever was.

"A month from today I guarantee I will be able to stand side by side with any striker in the country."

Why not get him at Leicester, could do a job at this level if he is seriuos!!! No worse than our current crop of strikers

Imagine that...... Happy days. Peter Taylor maintains Ade BadBuy would've been much better had he been able to learn under the master....

He tried a comeback a couple of years ago, didn't he, which didn't work out. I can't imagine he is in better shape now. Plus he is a woman beating c*kehead - no thanks, we really would be a laughing stock if we took him on.

I wouldnt be suprised to see him train at Villa. Collymore views O'Neill as the ideal manager for any player. O'Neill understands the different type of players and how to deal with them and dial them in.

He wants to play football not go on a conference call :102:

i know but it doesnt mean to say he wouldnt give him another go..does it

I was told by Mat Elliott's wife that after Collymore left Bradford he asked Peter Taylor if he could come back to us as this was the only place he ever really felt accepted. Taylor told him to feck off.

Personally I would let him train with us, he could do something and even if not he might be able to show Fryatt and co how to put the ball in the net.

I'd have him back, if just for the increase in attendance if nothing else

I'd welcome Stan Bowles at the moment, given the state of our midfield.

well we do seem to be fire fighting at the minute, he'd be handy with an extinguisher if nothing else...
