there's virtually no singing at the walkers, it's an atmosphere-less bowl with tiny little pockets of singing next to the away fans and a bit at the back of the kop.
northampton showed up our home support for what it is last saturday.
unfortunately 5 years of shite football have killed the really vocal atmosphere that used to exist at filbertstreet. i can't remember the last time i heard a rousing rendition of when you're smiling or a chant that went on for 10-15 minutes that pulled most of the crowd in and transmitted across to the players when they needed some support.
unfortunately the mediocrity of the football and the atmosphere of the stadium are creating a bit of a vicious circle ie when we play shite any atmosphere dies & the fans are so prepared for failure that they don't whip up a great atmosphere from the start.
the solution is for the team to excite the fans, but the fans have to have some responsibility. it's undeniable that the team would overperform if the stadium was a party atmosphere of noise and optimism rather than the bore fest it currently is.
i think milan's got a point that the stadium needs positive noisy support rather than silent or booing negativity. that's the definition of support isn't it?
