It wasn't his fault he kept getting injured! Micky signed him knowing his injury record.

He was a boozer, I wasn't referring to his injury problems.

So was Steve Walsh.

But the game has moved on since then. And Micky is strict on drinking, he breathalises his players sometimes.

I do see what you are saying. However, I could have told you that Gillespie and Howey are not the players to be signing if you want to eradicate a drinking problem.
The fact is the fans wouldnt care about Howey drinking if he had performed on the pitch.

Do you care to share them?

It's not about the fans in this case though - It's what the manager thinks - He buys the players, chooses the team.
Buying Howey and Gillespie perhaps wasn't the most wisest decision if you're looking to eradicate a drink problem, but Micky obviously thought he could control that - How wrong he was.
I've heard alot of rumours about Howey (although I stress they are rumours) so it wasn't surprising he was released.
Well it IS to do with his drinking.
Straight from Elliott and also Heath's dad:
Not only wasn't Micky happy with the amount he drank anyway, but the fact that he liked to have2 or 3 BEFORE the matches that really pissed him off!!
