Personally I think de Vries will still play. But if he doesn't I expect it'll be Hammond and Dodds... which doesn't sound like a very potent front two.

Horror setting in if MDV does not play. Now thats a change for the books

He said something about MDV and Dubbo carrying injuries... hence resting them. Give Chambers a go!

I think with the news of MDV and Dublin out I might have a bet on Cardiff to stuff us! They are going great guns at the minute and I dont think CL cares too much about the League Cup!

Cardiff are Evens with Ladbrokes!!

That is a cracking price when you look at their home form and the fact they are on a high from spanking Crewe 6-1. just got to find out if they have any injuries!

Dont suppose anyone knows a good Cardiff forum? :icon_wink

Dodd and Hammond.....mmmmmm.....not exactly a physical force up front!

Would like to see Dodds given a chance though

I agree, he seems extremely potent in the reserves. Strength isn't everything, the guy is lightning fast and seems unable to miss!

i reckon dodds and hammond-bring chambers on for about 20 mins towards the end if all goes well!

Sounds good to me. :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :038: ;)

I think Levein is serious about the League Cup. I'd imagine that the only person who might start who isn't a first team regular tomorrow is whoever partners Hammond (and Henderson, but that's for reasons other than resting first team players). That said, MDV will probably play, Levein is always saying he's got a little bit of an injury and then playing him anyway.

why not play Sylla up front with Elvis. Should be plenty of pace to worry their defence. Sylla has played up front in the past and he looked quite good going forward on sunday IMO.

I've seen Sylla play up front for Celtic and frankly he was fecking awful.I'd imagine MDV or Dublin to play alongside Hammond.Failing that perhaps 5 in midfield and Hammond up there on his own,is Hughes fit?
