RIP Sven - you called me personally to wish me a happy 21st birthday when my friend bumped into you in Leicester. Such a lovely memory.

Another one from my brother’s best mate:

“So my sister came back from America and went san carlo to meet her mate. On the table next to them was Sven, derek fazackley, Chris Powell, vichai and top. My sister called me and I went to go meet them then vichai and top left and Sven invited us onto his table and we were talking for hours. He then said he wants to go to an Indian restaurant so week after took him to an Indian restaurant and he gave us a couple of free football tickets. He fancied my sister and derek fazackley fancied my sisters mate . Took him to Grand Dabbar and he got absolutely wankered.”

It was such a weird time at the club. One that I’ve forgotten a lot about due to the incredible decade we’ve had since. But Fazackerly. There’s a name I didn’t think I’d hear again! Re my brother’s mate, it’s his best mate since school. They were only bloody 17 at the time and at college but somehow befriended Sven!
