Haven't had the opportunity to start one of these since way back in 2008 so here goes.

I reckon we'll struggle to begin with but end up comfortable 4-0 winners. Here are the scorers:

Howard 42
Fryatt 50,58
Dyer 87

Let's hope I'm right!

Thats knackered that then :icon_roll

Barry and Francis. Sounds like second generation chuckle brothers to me.

Attendance will be 20,031

Any win will do.

I couldnt give a feck how we play.........just win.

For me a win is more important than a performance but I go to see skilled football as well.
I love good wing play and at the start of the season both Gradel and Dyer were well worth watching. Gradel soon fell away. Then around November Dyer's performances fell away. We were still able to get through massed defences since Davies though not a winger was able to dribble at speed. Our last two home matches we have lacked that player who can break down a defence. I don't know why Dyer has gone off but I hope that Messrs Pearson, Shakespeare and Walsh can sollve the problem. If they cannot I would like to see us get a left winger on loan.

I think we'll win by at least 3 wickets with Fryatt not out on 97.

Dyer may not be as dangerous as he was at the start but that's because he is now a marked man. He is still definitely worth his place and is still a danger and score some crackers out of the blue. To suggest we get a left winger on loan is just a joke.

Dyer became a marked man quite early in the season when he was clearly our most dangerous player. I don't think that is the cause of the dip in form. Recently NP has been substituting him which would have been unthinkable a few months back. Whether getting a left winger on loan would be a joke, of course, depends on the quality of the left winger. I suggested that as an option only if the management cannot bring him back to form. Certainly against Brighton and Oldham we needed a Lloyd Dyer in the form he was showing in September.
I shall be interested in whether Brown is picked ahead of either Morrison or Hobbs. Clearly Nigel felt he needed some experience at centreback but neither of the yoiungsters deserves dropping. Personally I would tell the yhoungsters that as long as you play well you have the shirt; if your standards slip then Brown is on the bench.

Martin

Morrison
Elliot sorry I mean Brown
Hobbs
Mattock

Oakley*
Cleverley
King
Dyer

Howard
Fryatt

* Start him at Right Midfield, drifiting inside like he managed to do so well in previous matches when playing right midfield.

Score: 5-1. Brown, Oakley, Fryatt, Cox (3-1), Howard & Dyer.
Attendance: 21'489.
Weather: 3 degrees.

Subs: Hendo, Gilbert, Berner, Gradel & Dickov

Worried we'll struggle to score again. 1-0 to us through a penalty or some other scrappy route.
