Sylla's off to Foxes and Rab will follow
MOMO SYLLA has agreed a three-year contract with Leicester, and will soon be joined at the Walkers Stadium by Rab Douglas.
The Celtic duo have accepted the deals put in front of them by Foxes boss Craig Levein. Sylla still had a year of his Celtic contract to run.
But after a meeting with outgoing boss Martin O'Neill, he has reached an agreement which will allow him to move south for no fee.
The Guinean midfielder, who joined the Hoops from St Johnstone for £650,000 in August 2001, explained O'Neill had suggested he might want to hang around to see if he figured any more often in the plans of new boss Gordon Strachan.
But the frustrated 28-year-old is desperate for first team football, and believes this move will make that more likely.
He said: "I've spoken to Martin about it and he understands I have been made an offer which is a good chance for me. Other clubs are also interested.
"But, after being down at Leicester, I've been impressed by Craig Levein and believe this is the right move for me."
Sylla may have to wait until he returns from World Cup duty with Guinea next week before he can finalise the deal.
Likewise, Scotland keeper Douglas - who is now a free agent - is expected to have to wait until he returns from Belarus next midweek before he can sign the three-year contract Levein has offered.
Douglas was delighted to finish his Celtic career with another shutout and another winner's medal.
He said: "Celtic will go on long after myself and any of the others in the team leave.
"But it was a great way to finish up with a clean sheet and lifting the Scottish Cup."
