Tried to use my TeamCard in the club shop today only to be told the scheme had been scrapped some time ago. Apparently I should have had a letter together with a 20% off voucher when it was announced.

Can't recall that at all. Still got a 20% discount but that ain't the point as my TeamCard saved me £90 quid last year and £80 the year before and now it's all gone.

Was I the only one actually using the thing?

I've not had a letter.

I have only ever used it twice and I'm not sure how many points are on it. I went to the club sho the other day and was planning to use it but they didn't have what I wanted.

Yes.

:081: I must admit I don't have a clue what the teamcard is.

IIRC, it was given to ST holders when they abolished the ST holder extra discount. Or something like that.

Bit like a Nectar card but far far far fewer shops actually took it.

wasnt it introduced by that wonderful marketing woman who lasted all of five minutes?

When the scheme was first under consideration at LCFC, we spoke to other Trusts where their club had already ran with the scheme.

The feedback we got back was 100% negative, mainly relating to the limited amount of companies where the points could be collected and we passed this to LCFC.

Also one of the Trust board had contacts in the loyalty card industry and that source discovered Teamcard had a track record of not attracting high profile companies, this was also fedback to LCFC

The club said they had been assured the quality of companies being involved would be much better than at previous clubs.

Once launched, we again questioned the initial partners & were told bigger companies would be coming on board and they didn't (just like at every previous club).

It seems one can fool all of the people all of the time at City. :icon_conf

Well I for one was very happy with it as one of the main sponsors was Harvey World Travel. I booked a holiday with them and as a result got £90 off my ST's one year and £80 off the next.

Had issues with the club though who at one point didn't even know their own procedures! (Bob may remember my anguished phone call!)
