well i couldn't find an ipod late last night, so i bought a Tesco Value mp3 player, 2 gig, Technika they call it

Pros:-
£24
No shitty i-tunes, drag those mp3s onto it in explorer

Cons:-
uses a AAA battery, although buying rechargables might be ok, it's still annoying
looks crap
menu is crap
not sure if you can copy CDs over, oly tried mp3s so far

on the whole i quite like it

well it plays the music ok and i like dealing with mp3s

oh, actually a plus point is being able to move computers

and being able to delete stuff off at source

fecking ipod was a mess when i changed computers and didn't wanna get everything again

and i suppose the battery is at least replacable withough going a shop

and it doubles quite easily as a USB pen, if i wanted to steal stuff from work

;)

Give me your ipod then sounds like youve replaced it :icon_wink

I would consider that to be a pro, but it depends how you're using it.

If I'm going to be away for a while I hate having to take chargers for everything, much easier just to take a spare battery, or buy one when I need it.

yeah it's nice to know i can carry a back up battery

at festivals, everyone'd ipod runs out as we all drained it into the stereo

the ideal is a solar charger bulit in of course :)

the thing i don't like about disposable batteries is the shitey metal filled landfill they create

You can recycle them.

Congratulations as well for breaking away from the sheeple herd & not getting a new iPod.

I have a cheapo I pod nano type thing from Aldis. £20 when they've got then in. It can also show video clips when I can work out how to load them and best of all it has a 3 year warranty.
