The thing is we're less likely to win that match tomorrow because the majority of the fans being drawn to the game are those who are too 'fickle' to buy a season ticket. Obviously that excludes those who can't afford tickets.

But if you look at it like this: The more fans who have come just because its cheap tickets, the more likely it is they are going to be frustrated with the performance and the sooner they will get on the players backs. The players make rash passes, lose the ball, conceded a goal - fans throw programs: Game Over.

I've seen it first hand before. The last fans fixture the guy behind me was shouting abuse at the team thought the match - but was he there next week when the tickets were at regular prices? No!
If that’s the case for just a few 100 fans then it could easily have a snowball effect.

I’m sure someone will have a major stress at me about this post; but that’s my opinion and I’m perfectly entitled to it.

That makes a lot of sense to me.

Totally Agree with you :038:

Top post FF, agree with all the points you make. Lets hope tonight the players start well and that the crowd is behind them from the off.

I felt these points were very well proved on Tuesday and Today.

ON Tues; we had a good first half, the fans were quiet but the players got on with the job; Second half we were pathetic, but this came from the fact the fans almost immediately got on the players backs (less than five mins from the kick off). This undoubtedly had a bearing on the result of the Game.

Today; just the 'Regular' fans were there and they held back their criticisms (in general). We had some songs in the first half - but the atmosphere was pretty similar to the first half of the Burnley match; even when we conceded the fans stayed off the players backs and moments from the end the patience was paid off, we got the 'sucker punch' right before the end of the half. Second half kicked off and Hume ran down the Cov players - got the ball, spurred on the fans and then We Scored! For the next 15mins we saw the best football of the season at the Walkers and hand in hand with this was the best atmosphere of the season. Eventually the pace died down - but in general the fans stayed off the players backs and look what happened!

Also who would of thought- a MA team throwing away a lead:icon_roll:icon_roll
