He gets a lot of stick and yes, he can be embarrassing at times, but his award today was well deserved and will be celebrated by all fair minded City fans.

Well done Alan. After the farce of Mandaric nearly giving him the boot we have a Chairman now who knows how to treat one of our most loyal servants.

They should have a Birchy action figure on sale in the club shop

Well said.

He is not just a cheerful character. I had a friend who worked as a cleaner at Belvoir Drive and suffered a sudden family tragedy. He said that away from the cheeriness how good and supportive Birch was in terrible times

Jimmy Bloomfield signed Keith Weller and Birch on the same day. What a good day that was for the club.

I agree with this. I know I don't get to many games but I've never understood the stick he gets on here.

Life time contract, does that mean Top is feckin off shortly?

Seriously, Birch get's some stick, not always justified, and I would like to say well done Birch and keep up the good work.

Top banana.

Met Birch four or five times, always been absolutely top notch. He is part of the furniture at the club. We are lucky to have him and he is lucky to have the club.

Yet another quality piece of management from the new owners.

Can anyone really fault anything they've done since October?

raised season ticket prices
TBF DD they would have to have increased them in any case to account for the upping of the Vat rate. Back to the Birch, as I said to my mate sat next to me at the game, the one thing the Thai's have got right is their PR. Plus the fact they travel fair distances to see the team ( being London based I see them quite often on the train going to some Godforsaken parts of the North ).

the old regime didnt drop the ticket prices when the VAT rate dropped down. I am still angry nothing was ever said about that.

Which are?

Large screens? Where are they? I noticed some 26-inch tvs were installed a few weeks back...

It's funny you should say that. Saturday was the first time I had seen the screens. I was surprised that they are as small as they are - but once the match got going I realised that the resolution is much, much clearer than I have seen anywhere else so the smaller size did not seem to matter.

have met the man himself and he's avuncular, funny and a great link to city's past
