Only Derby and Bolton have used fewer players than us this season. We have used 25. Watford lead the way having used 33.

Along with Cardiff, we have collected the most amount of clean sheets in the league (10).

Paul Konchesky and Ben Marshall are at the top of our assist chart (4).

Our home attendances rank 3rd average (22,654) in the division behind Sheff Wed (23,430) and Brighton (25,558).

Wes Morgan, Danny Drinkwater and Kasper Schmeichel have started the most amount of league games for us this season (26).

Danny Drinkwater has given away the most amount of fouls in our team (33).

Only Wolves have received fewer yellow cards than us this season, 24 compared to 29 for us. Bolton have collected 49 yellows.

Despite his poor touch, Chris Wood is our leading league goalscorer with 13 goals. David Nugent follows closely with 12.

Over and out.

Also to add to this, if we need around 92 points to secure automatic promotion (2 points per game), and we currently have 44. We need another 48 points from 20 games. This equates to 4 wins and a loss every 5 games from here on in...a tall order.

Orrr... we need to make up 5 points on Hull and 3 on Palace and Boro.

Points projections are silly. Okay, most stats are, but point projections in particular. Looking at the table and seeing we are only 5 points off the automatic spots is a far clearer indicator of what needs to be done!

Less than 2 points per game. Easy.

On current form (1.7 per game) we would end up with 78 points. Not enough, PEA SON OUT!

In all seriousness, I'd hope our form is slightly better than the first half of the year thanks to the addition of Chris "The Donkey" Wood.

Then you'd have finished 3rd. :icon_bigg

I see what you're saying, but if 2 teams score more (which they did) then you need to match the 2nd team.

1 more point than 3rd is enough to go up in each of those seasons. What 1st and 2nd got doesn't matter really.

Although, none of it really matters... what's more important is that we get more points than at least 3 of the 4 teams above us before the end of the season (and enough to go past them)... and that doesn't seem out of the question.

To finish in the top two you need to finish above the team that finishes third. The third placed teams in the last four seasons finished with 86, 80, 79, and 80 points. That's what the second placed teams in those seasons had to beat, not some imaginary other team that may have finished above them on the same number of points.

i disagree, we need to do a lot of work to finish in automatic and the projection shows this

saying "5 points off" is a false economy, the teams at the top win all the time and a five point gap is very difficult to close, we could win the next 5 league games and not close that gap

Here are the all-important stats.

From the past 10 Championship seasons, the average points required for:-

Champions: 87.8 pts rounded up to 88 pts (1.91 pts per game)
Automatic Promotion: 81.9 pts rounded up to 82 pts (1.78 pts per game)
Play-Offs: 71.7 pts rounded up to 72 pts (1.56 pts per game)
Staying up: 47.6 pts rounded up to 48 pts (1.04 pts per game)

As it stands Leicester City have gained 44 points from 26 games at a ratio of 1.69 points per game. Thereby currently projected to achieve a play-off position.

In order to achieve:-

Champions: 44 pts from 20 games at a ratio of 2.20 p.p.g = 14 wins and 2 draws.
*No more than 5 defeats*

Auto Promotion: 38 pts from 20 games at a ratio of 1.90 p.p.g = 12 wins and 2 draws.
*No more than 7 defeats*

Playoffs: 28 pts from 20 games at a ratio of 1.40 p.p.g = 9 wins and a draw.
*No more than 10 defeats*

Staying up: 4 pts from 20 games at a ratio of 0.20 p.p.g. = 1 win and a draw.
*No more than 18 defeats*

Of course the points required and win/draw/loss projections all subject to change as the season progresses.

I understand what you're saying, but if you want to come second you need to overtake the team that's second.

Potato/potato.
