That’s soooooooo obviously fake since we roll over every time we meet a big six team. Or so I’m told in here.

It is very interesting, and highlights where our issues have been this season.

I’m sure we’d be bottom if it was against the bottom 6 teams.

Weird. Maybe we raise our games against the big sicks.

I think it's been said a couple of times already here, in different ways; we tend to play better against teams that play a certain way (loosely speaking, more expansive 'better' - tiki-taka? - football), but yet struggle against those than set out with a solid defensive, low block strategy and look to break quickly.

We have more space and can play our game against the former but you could say we're more vulnerable against the latter type (shit?) teams.

Exactly.

We are great against anyone that either comes at us (big six) or is utter shit (bottom three). If a side sit deep, stay compact and counter attack us, we're in trouble (nearly everyone else).

The worrying thing is that Chelsea will do exactly this if Tuchel knows what he is doing. We need to hope that they'll be arrogant and try and control the game and leave us some space in between the lines. Otherwise we'll be seeing Werner like a rocket down the left side to square it in for a tap in.

Must be the middle 8 then!

Points against PL sides this season. We've only not beaten West Ham and Everton:

Man City = 3/6
Man Utd = 4/6
Chelsea = 3/3
West Ham = 0/6
Liverpool = 3/6
Spurs = 3/3
Everton = 1/6
Arsenal = 3/6
Leeds = 3/6
Villa = 3/6
Wolves = 4/6
Palace = 4/6
Southampton = 4/6
Burnley = 4/6
Newcastle = 3/6
Brighton = 6/6
Fulham = 3/6
WBA = 6/6
Sheff Utd = 6/6

Upcoming fixtures of interest before we play again:

12/05 - Chelsea v Arsenal - a win for Chelsea will pretty much guarantee them at least 5th.
13/05 - Villa v Everton - anything other than a win for Everton and they cannot finish top 4.
13/05 - Man Utd v Liverpool - anything other than a win for Liverpool and we only need 2 points.
15/05 - Brighton v West Ham - can't finish above us if they don't win.
16/05 - WBA v Liverpool
16/05 - Everton v Sheff Utd

Worst case scenario when we kick off against Chelsea in the PL with all teams having two matches left:

3rd Chelsea 67 points
4th Leicester 66 points
5th Liverpool 63 points
6th West Ham 61 points
7th Everton 61 points

On 17/05 Liverpool go to Burnley, West Ham go to WBA and Everton host Wolves. Worst case scenario on last day if we lose at Chelsea:

3rd Chelsea 70 points
4th Liverpool 66 points (would definitely have a superior goal difference)
5th Leicester 66 points
6th West Ham 64 points
7th Everton 64 points

On the last day, Liverpool are at home to Palace, West Ham home to Southampton and Everton are at Man City.

Looking back on the season and in-particular the games that we have dropped points in against teams that I feel we should have done better against - West Ham, Villa, Fulham, Everton, Palace, Leeds, Burnley, Southampton and Newcastle - we are quite often losing by half time and playing catch-up towards the end of games, sometimes successfully.

I know I am probably in the minority but I think we need to be more controlled in these games, especially in the first half, push teams back and almost strangle them into submission.

Hm I thought we would only need 1 more point, but looking at then I think we need a win.

Presumably if we draw with Chelsea though and all those other worst case scenarios happen, we'd look in a better position because Chelsea would stay behind us

Draw needed with Chelsea plus a win against Spurs unless Chelsea implode then a draw against both will do.
