I have gained mixed reports, my brother wanted to run out and scream and a couple of mates said it aint bad.

I feel the reason it has been criticised is now to this, it has been marketed to be a blockbuster with blockbuster actors, the storyline would work more better as a 15 cert. intellegent thriller.

If the book didn't exist it would be a superb film.

That also. I do find the storyline quite shambolic tho and then my brother told me the ending, it took away the last bit of creditbility left in it.

The Da Vinci Code is possibly the worst book I've ever read!

One critic got it right when he said it's much more of an offence to contemporary literature then it is to Christianity.

I went to see the film last night after reading the book a couple of months ago.

I found the film quite good. i think most people that love the book are disppointed because there's so much been left out. silly feckers! do you want a 12 hour film??? good reading doesn't always mean good viewing. the actors for the roles almost matched how i imagined them to look.

I do worry, however, that people who haven't read the book won't follow the story in the film very well. The backgrounds of things/people/groups are described in detail in the book that help the reader understand whats going on and add more meaning and significance to the story, it's fairly impossible to get all of that information into the film.

I'd give it a good 7/10

I thought the book was a very good read! I havent seen the film yet but plan to watch it next week. Obviously the film wont be as good as the book because IMO films based on books never are!

Read the book and seen the film. Loved reading the book and thought the film was ok but not great. Think you'd probably enjoy the film more if you hadn't read the book.
