My prediction is that Maddison and Barnes will go on to achieve one major honour each as players - the FA Cup in 2021.
Both are undoubted talents. Both have provided outstanding moments of skill. Both have the ability to get to the top. Both are also suspect characters that are just not the right sort that I'd want in any winning changing room.
If we get £100m combined for the pair, that would be outstanding business from us. I suspect that we won't and that the actual fees will be much lower than eventually gets reported, just as they were for most other big sales we've done over recent years.

I also think he does try too hard and sometimes does one trick too many but the absolute truth is that no one else in the team has or had the skill to do what Maddison tried and sometimes accomplished.
