That's not true.
We are likely to get the go ahead for a £100m training facility this week. Our leaked plans for stadium expansion look superb and set to establish our stadium as the biggest and best between London and the North West. We have sensibly invested in our youth academy and we have a policy of recruiting mainly young players with the potential to be excellent. We really do have an excellent squad of players. We've even now established a feeder club in Belgium.
Our only real problem is having a second class Director of Football and a second class Manager. Address these two positions and the actual steps forward that we are taking will become more apparent.

Am I the only person who wouldn't rate our squad as excellent? We've got some good players but not enough to fill every position...which leaves us playing players out of position and some who aren't good enough. That could all be solved by a new manager or recruitment team. We'd have a bloody good 5/6 a side team though.
The rest of it I agree with, though I think we should have started the stadium expansion plans earlier.

The company that are doing Spurs ground did some mock ups and they're online somewhere but that was just an option. People were invited to the club in August to look over plans and comment. There were asked not to talk about the plans as they were at an early stage but obviously some did.
Roughly, the idea is to completely renovate the whole area. Take over the hotel and do loads of work around the waterfront. Build a mega-stand on the east side connected to a walk way and a 6k seater arena for events and to use on matchdays. The images of the stand had a very King Power flourish, lots of glass, rounded roofs, etc. The east side was also linked up to the north and south stands which had second tiers on them too. Somewhere between 42k and 45k when done. The entire stadium would look very different to now. If you look at some of King Power's buildings in Asia, you'll get an idea of the type of thing. You can also see it in their buildings at the proposed new training ground.
Those that I've seen comment about it also said it was on hold until a planning decision was made for the training ground. Once that's done (which should be this week), they'll push on with the stadium. Probably 4-5 years before it's all done though.

Ah ok. I’ve met some people from the company doing the plans, so knew a fair bit of what you’re talking about, but I haven’t seen any images, so I was wondering if there were any.

I understand this but... think about who we are and where we are. We've got wealthy owners who seem committed to the long term well being of the club, we've just had the greatest season anyone could have ever dreamed of. Look at Forest, Coventry, Derby etc, we're an East Midlands club with an average fan base that is now properly punching. We're an established Premier League side who can genuinely aspire to European competition. We are not, and never going to be, a North West or London based giant, but we are close to being the best of the rest and I'll take that.
I was as pissed off with Saturdays result as anyone, but we need to get some perspective. These years under the Thai's are as good as I've known since I started to support the club in the 60's. Once I get past the foolishness of Saturday and other days like it, I remember where we've been and where we are and give a small prayer of thanks.
I would also add that I've drunk a lot of red wine tonight and that always gives me a rosy, optimistic glow.

I think there's a lot of reason beyond wine for optimism. Don't misunderstand, I generally have a good feeling about the recent years. Importantly, I can see the club is increasing in value under the current ownership. As I say, off the pitch isn't at all what I was talking about. Huddersfield and Newcastle were two of the flimsiest, most spineless teams we've played in a long time. Beating them wasn't special, it was extremely ordinary. When we play someone with any intention of winning a football match, we crumble.
