Honestly pop old son, that line of argument only works until it doesn't. At some point, those of you that remain convinced that it's not about him will have to accept that it is about him. Are you going to accept it when he's 37 or 42?

How he's playing is not like he did under Puel at all. He got into a 'race' with Ream last night and struggled to keep up with him. Ream is one of the slowest defenders out there. He did have decent service last night. Albrighton slung ball after ball into the area and he was nowhere near any of them. When he was included in the build up play, he was woefully short of the speed of thought required. Your argument just doesn't hold up. It's just wishful thinking.

Why do you think Rodgers is selecting Daka over him most of the time? Rodgers has praised Vardy in every possible way for years. He loves him and built a style of play to suit him. But he knows that Vardy can't do it any more.

I hoped with an extended break he'd come back in decent shape but he's visibly deteriorating month after month now. Soon he won't need a Red Bull to give him energy, he'll need a large dose of amphetamines.

No. But then that was ****ing obvious. Anyone who thought that in the space of 6 weeks he could suddenly forget how to be a footballer is a daft as Rodgers.

He was playing exactly like he did under Puel and then he was either sitting on the bench or being brought on after Maddison and Ihenacho were taken off. In games he did start, Maddison was missing for a few as were other key players and the rest of the time we didn't bother trying to get the ball forward because we were too busy trying to tidy up after Amartey. He wasn't played in a two at all. Not once.

What a ****ing waste.

Vardy could have been a highly effective sub this season. Coming on for the last 20 minutes and affecting games, like he did at Leeds.

But we've got it all wrong with him and, let's be fair, he's been total dogshit this season whenever called upon - until this last week.

If you want to say that Rodgers deliberately ruined his game by doing the same things as he had for the preceeding three seasons, where Vardy flourished under him, that's a bad argument. If you want to suggest that Vardy has been deliberately under-performing because he was fed up with Rodgers, then he's a twat for withdrawing his effort from the club that made him. If not these things, what are you suggesting?

Vardy is a shadow of his former self. He is too old to lead our line consistently. He's started 16 of our 34 games and his goal on Monday was his first this season when he's been named in the line up (1 goal in 1,204 mins). He's come off the bench 17 times and has 2 goals from a lot fewer minutes (1 goal in 192 mins).

With Iheanacho injured, and Daka a bit of a mess, we have to rely on Vardy for the remaining matches. Fortunately, we can do this because he'll have a week to rest between games. When Vardy has been asked to appear more than once a week this season, he's hobbled about like a geriatric. His groin and hips are ****ed.

There is nobody who jumped about more than me on Monday when he scored but I expect most 90 year old men get the occasional stiffy.

You can justify writing him off all you like but the answer was incredibly simple; supply him properly and when possible, play him in a two and hey presto.

You can't possibly use that nonsense of 'Rodgers played him in exactly the same way' as a defence for what you are saying. This only works if everything else was the same in terms of delivering him meaningful chances. It wasn't. We played flacid football with absolutely no pace whatsoever. We pissed the ball around time after time and never, ever looked to exploit the spaces properly or with any potency. It is also the case that when he was brought on, it was often when we were chasing a game or when we had taken off our creative midfielders or forwards and replaced them with dross. This is a completely different dynamic. The stats also show that he wasn't being played in the same way at all, he was having to come much deeper much more of the time and defend from the top for more.

I never got this 'he's too slow', 'he looks like he's an old pensioner' horse shit. It simply isn't true. He looked like a player absolutely frustrated by a lack of any creativity or pace behind him. A player hopelessly isolated time after time and a player who had no consistency to his pattern of play because of terrible management choices. We've addressed some of that under Smith and guess what.... it's paying dividends.

Yes and it's more than likely because they all try to change things and mix it up. To play to his strengths you have to be direct and move the ball at pace. That's it. Nothing else. Simple.

Yeah i agree. Bizarre that several managers can have such a great goalscorer like him but choose to take goals out of the plan. Suppose the getting sacked bonus is v attractive.
