Now here’s a complicated conundrum to unravel.

Leicestershire have four South Africans signed under the Kolpak loophole, suggesting that perhaps they are not wholly committed to unearthing future England Test cricketers.

And yet their chairman has just published a 69-page document entitled "An Evidence Based Approach to the Identification and Development of England Test Cricketers in the County Championship."

Confusing though that may appear, the county’s predicament is in fact all too easy to understand............................
