Yes planet Anderson gives his verdict in the old propagander evening news.

Saturdays individual ratings by uncle bill were:

Taylor:Looked comfortable again apart from the odd moment when his kicking left a bit to be desired. No chance with the goals.

Stearman: The 17 yr old was thrown in for his first start and, even though it was not his usual position,he showed up well.

Dabizas:Made some vital tackles to keep out a hungry visiting attack at vital times and generally kept up his recent high standard.

Dublin:Dominant in the air as he stood in again at the back but this time did not get the chance to show his worth at the other end.

Stewart: With no left winger, he had to operate the flank on his own, combining both defensive and attacking duties which was asking a lot.

Gillespie:Bright display but the supply of crosses was not plentiful enough for the front men this time.

Nalis:Busy in the midfield and always eager to get forward,he was unlucky to see a shot handled on the goal line with no reward.

Gudjonsson:Energetic and competitive, he worked hard to try to get things moving but his shooting was ambitious and off-target.

Gemmill:Did his best to keep the moves going and was always looking for the positive pass to take the game to the visitors.

Blake: Very strong display, city's top man,hit a post just before the break and in general took a lot of holding by the visiting defence.

Scowcroft:Got on the end of a couple of crosses but had little chance to make any real impact.

So planet Anderson reckons that apart from Taylors kicking and Gudjonssons crap shooting the perfomance from our players in general was positive.Note that Blake was his star man. If the forums ratings are anything to go by then i am sure you will have something to say about our Bills opinions.
I remember returning from many away matches in the 80s and 90s thinking our shite we were, only to pick up his report and decide within his first 2 paragraphs that this man had watched a different game.

I think the problem with a lot of supporters is they have their own favourite players (and players they love to hate), so they go into the match with a preconceived idea of how players are going to play, rather than judging each match individually.

I try to give each player a clean slate at the start of the match, which is why I thought Stewart and Blake were two of our better (OK, less bad!) players on Saturday. But some supporters who don't like those players, will have picked up on every mistake, and used it to reinforce their opinions, without noticing the good things they did. Likewise with Richard Stearman, but the other way round. Some people have heard such good things about him and are desperate for him to do well they didn't notice his mistakes.

At least two papers thought Blake was our top man. I don't agree with that, but I hope it makes those people who said he was our worst player think about why they have that opinion, and judge him on what he did during the match, not on their memory of what he did at the start of the season.

I notice the report on the Foxes Trust site has James Scowcroft as our MOTM. I thought he was one of our worst players!

We do have our fav players, but only cos they are the fav players.

Blake will never be a fav player cos he aint a fav player.

I completely agree with you there webbo, to see people giving Blake a one only strengthens what I believe is the only thing that spoils the ratings.

Bill Anderson is a big fat freak

I wonder sometimes if his seat faces the pitch

Foxes trust gave Scowy Man of the Match...I must now take everything they say with a pinch of salt...sorry trust

the mercury

Are we boneheads?
I think its quite brave to put your hand up and say Blake had a half decent game. After all, it is about opinions and to say something positive about Blake is a good thing imo.Blake like Akinbadbuy is the butt of the fans frustrations and this is never going to help the player. He will sense that the fans are against him and if it effects his nerves he will always struggle to perform to a decent standard.
Of course a winner against F****T on Friday could change everything, as i am sure we would all quickly forget his previous efforts.
I remember Mark Venus and Simon Grayson both getting hammered by city fans ,but both improved to a far higher level before leaving. In Graysons case i believe he was our player of the year before going.
So a little more encouragment for Blake may not go a miss, and lets leave it to CL to decide if he as any future with us.After all plenty of us have backed CL over MA ,so now let him do his job.

We did win this game didn't we - I'm currently in Spain and heard we lost 2-0 but having seen the genius Anderson's ratings, i realise that must have been misinformation.

All local press soccer reporters have to be sycophants or they get their privileges taken away but Bill Anderson has always been in a league of his own

No, the Foxes Trust didn't give Scowy man of the match.
A trust member writes each report, and it quite clearly says at the bottom of each report that "The views expressed in this report are the opinions of the Trust member nominated to file the report only and do not represent the views of the Foxes Trust organisation"
