I am happy to say I know f*ck all about "pitch technology" and whether it is, or is not, possible to play "rugger" and "soccer" on the same surface week in week out

But Dunc says he does - and I've seen the same thing argued elsewhere - and I'm more than happy to go along with what he says

So can we PLEASE stop using the pitch argument in future threads

This is not about the pitch, or seats, or Tigers fans hating LCFC

It is a principle of us stick in the mud (cess pit mud, that is) dinosaurs protecting our perceived traditions against the new age johnny-come-lately-to football "sports" fan who wishes to embrace the brave new world of generic homogenised crap that is marketed nowadays, and nothing else

So stop talking about the f*ckin' pitch, 'cos its irrelevant

I happen not to be against this in principle so as you are calling me a “johnny-come-lately-to football” I would be interested to know how long you have been regularly supporting City. It could perfectly possibly be longer than me but as my first season ticket was the 1968-69 season I think that it is a bit questionable to call me a johnny-come-lately.

Apologies, Gloucester - you beat me by a good five years

And no doubt your dad is bigger than my dad as well

I'm not backing this to go ahead, but i am not opposed to it happeneing I'm not really not that bothered who owns the stadium as long as they don't get rid of the football club. i will go and watch leicester play anywhere beit walkers stadium owned by americans, owned by us, owned 50-50, or at Atherstone Utd ground, as long as the club would run as normal (whats normal with our board!) we get players and we continue to push for promotion back to where we belong in the premiership and have many many glory years in there like when o'neil was in charge, which is hopefully what we're going for.

i might be classed as a "jonny-come-lately" as i've only had a season ticket 10 years. but nothing means more to me than leicester city, i'm only young (21) had full time jobs 3 of which i left because they tried to make work when leicester were playing.

Really ??????????????

Well to an extent, unless you really want to know about denier's, tuft types (ie Polypropolene, Polyethalene), needlepunched or tufted, defibrulation, random piles, reinforcement, sand filled or sand dressed, even sand & rubber crumb grasses, sand envelopes, geotextiles etc.

Its not an issue cause its easy to produce a surface that accomodates both.

:?: What's that all about? I was just a bit irritated by the fact that someone thinks that just because I don't agree with them I am any less a City supporter or must be a "johnny-come-lately". I respect other supporters right to different opinions and even if I disagree I don't question their commitment to the City. For me leaving Filbert Street was far harder, but was necessary, than sharing the ground with another Leicester team that is not a competitor. If it means that we can build a better future for the City by paying towards the purchase of half the ground rather than ongoing rent then that's OK by me. Also if we pay less by sharing with a non-competitor team that seems OK. I don't have all the details so I don't know if the previous points are meet but if they are then I personally think it could be good for the future of the club. I may be wrong but I'm no less a supporter for being open to the possibility.
