We owed him money. All our other creditors accepted a deal to delay payment. Except him. He took it to court. We went into administration.

Money to do with Dennis Wise or something else?

edit - I’ll read that, didn’t realise there was any Leicester specific beef.

Probably to do with his role as an agent when we signed W*se.
Wasn't it over money claimed to be owed over the sacking of Wise?

Only Messi comparable. The greatest.
He wasn’t a footballer of my youth though. Football is magical when you’re a kid and watching the ‘86 World Cup, as a 10 year old, was like nothing I’d seen before. He was fantastic in that and was on another level to every other player there, on the biggest stage of all.

I was too young to adore Best and I'm too old to get taken in too much by Messi. The genius of my footballing socialisation was Diego Armando Maradona.

I loved him, I hated him, I gasped at his genius and I tutted as his stupidity. His was the shirt the cool kids wanted when we played football. Number 10, Argentina or Napoli or Barcelona shirts. I was left footed, he was left footed. And that's where our footballing abilities diverged.

Maradona was a fabulous footballer and a flawed human being. He was surrounded by dangerous people and dangerous temptations. That he made it to his 60th birthday is a minor miracle. Reports suggest that he had grown tired of life and nothing stimulated him any more. He packed a lot into those 60 years though. An extraordinary talent. RIP Diego.

Plenty of adulation here, but for me he would find a place in ppf's "people who’ve died that we don’t really like" thread. He was a cheating **** and nothing he did will ever persuade me otherwise.

Absolutely. Puma Maradona Hero boots were the things to have, if you were in the know. Things of beauty they were.

The translation of the Argentine commentary for his second goal against England in ‘86 is amazing. I wish our commentators were that excited!

Totally this

A disgusting cheating, drug-addled fat ****
