Peter Kay's autobiography-got this as a present for christmas and so far its been as expected very funny! if your a fan of his stuff then obviously you'll like it.

I don't get these autobiogs.

What has Peter Kay ever don to warrant anybody being interested in his personal life.

Recent ones I've read are Paul McCartney, Michael J Fox, Murray Walker & James Hunt. Now these are real people who have experienced a shit load in life and have stuff worth reading about, Peter Kay?, great comedian, can't see why anybody would want to read about him though

Peter Kay was a couple of rows in front of me at the Take That concert I went to at the NEC.

Useless bit of info. for today :icon_lol:

Too shouty shouty for me. Like highlander says (shit, agreeing again with the old swine) it's a bit samey.

I agree Melton. Espically these footballers, I hope Leicester play Chelsea, I want to abuse Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard so much...

They reckon Gerrard's autobio is a good un', I suppose that's because he has actually achieved something. I hope, six-time Speedway World Champion Ivan Mauger writes one, very interesting Kiwi, same could be said of Kenny Carter but he shot himself.

Currently readin Neil Lennon's auto.

Pretty good.

An autobiography is a one off when you've retired from your chosed field.
It's a fecking joke that people aged in their 20's have done them. Some people are so far up themselves....to55 ers...

Ive read this to and it was very good but felt he could have lkeft it another 20 years and told some really good stories.

Biography's are generally better IMO - less "i was great" or even worse "and then I found drink/God/Drugs/love" bollocks.

Last year I read "ladies & Gentlemen - Lenny Bruce!" which was brilliant, heavy going in some bits but the man changed comedy and entertainment in general.

Also read "Wired: Short Life and Fast Times of John Belushi" by Bob Woodward of All the Presidents Men fame which was pretty good although repetitive when it starts giving a day by day diary of his last days.

Currently reading a De Niro Biography which is interesting as the guy who's written it clearly thinks the man is an overrated actor and one of little depth, which gives a different slant on the usual sychophantic rubbish biographers churn up.

One non fiction book I'd recommend for anyone interested in 90's Cinema is Rebels on the Backlot by Sharon Waxman which is superb if you like directors like Tarantino, Wes Anderson, Paul thomas Anderson, David Fincher and others.
