The general point of the article is correct - Livermore, Lallana, Cork, Loftus-Cheek, Abraham, Redmond, Solanke, Wilshere, Ward Prowse

Useless sacks of shite have all played for England in the last year

Albrighton may not be an obvious example of an international class player, but compared to that shower he's feckin' Messi and Ronaldo rolled into one
That's exactly my thoughts. I agree, Albrighton perhaps shouldn't play for England but if the precedent has been set with th3 selections of Solanke and Challobah then he (and Simpson) should feel aggrieved at not being given a chance.

maybe if he or Simpson were CM's then yes but there are better wingers and much better right backs than Albrighton and Simpson available for England

Exactly. Not sure why some are comparing Albrighton to players who play in totally different positions.

Happy days, to think it's almost 50 years since we regaled Sir Alf with chorus after chorus of "Glover for England" as we unerringly steered our way to relegation to D2.

Well, to put it simply, they're not. They are discussing opportunities afforded to players based on 'merit'. If Challobah, Redmond (who has played as a winger many, many times and would most certainly have done so for England with their setup) and Wilshere have been selected supposedly on 'merit' then Albrighton and Simpson (2 years ago at least) can count themselves very unlucky not to have been selected. It's not really rocket science. You can include Drinkwater as well if you like - it's akin to the same thing.

The majority of players mentioned in this thread are central midfielders and have been given an opportunity because of how poor England’s choice of central midfield is. Hence why Drinkwater got an opportunity.

Simpson and Albrighton haven’t been picked because England have better options in those positions.

I was annoyed all over again recently when someone reminded me that Wilshere went to Euro 2016 unfit and Danny Drinkwater didn’t go. That says it all about the extra challenge players from the “smaller” teams have, even after winning the PL

And the fact it’s happening all over again with Wilshere this year just shows how poor the options are.

How did it all go so wrong and turn into such an awful pile of shite ?

Puel Out
Two wins against two of the divisions whipping boys doesn’t change a whole lot for me. Clearly some are easily pleased.

Outstanding. Hey maybe this is a good thing, we all know what happened last time everyone underestimated LCFC.
