Median average, yes. Not mean average, that sounds very unlikely. How are you measuring whatever you’re measuring to arrive at an average? If you measure on current Premier League points, everyone below Watford – 65% of teams – is below average.

It's usually 8th place and below - it's the "likes of" zone.

I think we're a 60 point a season squad. I wouldn't swap our group of players for any of the others outside the top six - would any of you?
We're on track for a 51 point season at the moment. That's almost certainly a 9th or 10th place finish.
Exactly the sort of season that will have the agents of our better prospects on the phone to get them somewhere more ambitious.
And then we become Southampton. And then we get relegated.
For our players and managers, you have to push on or push off. Anything else is terminal decline.
