I preferred it when players were gagged and made no statements whatsoever. These days whether it's football or cricket, you have a plethora of embarrassing statements on official sites, to teletext or whatever when they should be sticking to training and playing the game.

Nothing that Maybury says has any significance.

The only thing that matters is that we have managed to win only 5 games in 25 and are 20th in a crap league because the manager and his staff are unable to organise, inspire or frighten the under-achieving players into anything better.

In this situation, the board are ultimately responsible because they employ the manager and the rest of his staff. Therefore, we need words not from failing players but from the board as to whether they consider the current situation acceptable and if not what they propose to do about it.
