Should be an exciting game today, a caretaker manager and a group of players able to play with a fair amount of freedom, the pressure of poor league form put to the back of minds and the pressure of the managers position now removed.

The fans should also be in a more positive frame of mind, lets hope that the events of last week will help the club move on and get the positive reaction so desperately required.

Also the Neil Lennon situation will no doubt provide an interesting side issue, will be interesting to see whether Lenny's name is chanted throughout the proceedings.

Steve Walsh and Matty Elliott both returning to the club today as well, IMO will be a cracking atmosphere and hopefully a new dawn.

god i do hope so ,just got to back them now and that means NO BOOING OF PLAYER what ever the result is IMO

Behind you on that one Newton, IMO I would be surprised to see Kisnorbo, Hamill or MDV in the starting line up today.

The manager may have changed, but the "fans" remain I'm afraid.......

I actually believe that a lot of the negative chanting at certain players was down to "fans" fustration with the manager, it was wrong and I would never condone it, but people were becoming more and more fed up seeing certain managers favourites starting at the expense of better players even though it was clear to see they were out of their depth and struggling.

I am looking forward to this match, not felt like this on a Saturday for a long time.....

I hope you're right, KTF and actually agree with your point but....when MDV mis-controls the ball within the first 10-15 mins, you just know what the reaction will be....

IMO we didnn't need to change the manager, we only needed to get rid of Levein. I believe he was having a negative impact on the team and now that negative input has been removed we should see a free'er flowing team without having to make any managerial changes, although obviously this situation can only be temporary

Oh, also we may see the back of Maybury & Kisnorbo, that may help

I really dont believe he will be on the pitch, remember the likes of MDV, Hamill and Kisnorbo were Levein's men, signed by him from his previous club, they will have had more loyalty to him, also he had shown a great deal of loyalty to them, and his departure will have had a much bigger effect on those players, I think the reaction of the crowd will be far more positive now Levein has departed.

Players were picked at because fans were p1ssed off with manager for picking him them week in week out and so there mistakes were highlighted as a way of proving a point to Levein.

Perhaps.....I understand that RK will be changing a "few" things around today, but I've been lead to believe he's basing the team on experience - which makes me think MDV will be in....:102: We'll see come 2pm I suppose..

MDV is the only really big attacker we have, all the others are small and do not hold up the ball so well, at worst I would have MDV on the bench but Hammond I would have him in the stands

Bonjour de la belle France. I will miss the game because we are in the process of moving to France but I would like to wish the Club, the team and ALL the fans good look and a new start to the season. After 45 years of following City I am going to miss that Saturday feeling and getting up early on a Sunday to buy the papers when we have won, and getting up late when we have lost (had a few lie ins of late).

Mixed emotions but I will be there in spirit. My team in France is Les Girondins de Bordeaux.

Any of their players worth a look at? Even if we have no chance in hell of signing them.

No-one at the moment but 10 years ago we had Zidane, Dugarry and Wiltord and got to the final of the UEFA cup. Re critisizing players, I am normally a well mannered person but I completely lost it a few years ago over the performance of one Jordan Stewart and probably should have been thrown out. It is called PASSION and if you want to see football without passion, come to France. They applaud when a goal is scored and nobody berates the ref when he makes a howler. It is like sex without an orgasm, still enjoyable but you get the feeling that something is missing.
