City defender Tom Parkes has agreed a one-month loan move to League 2 side Bristol Rovers.

The 20-year-old centre-back heads to the Memorial Stadium after making a full recovery from an ankle injury that interrupted a loan spell with Burton Albion earlier this term.

Tom, now in his second year as a professional with the Foxes, was recently named as a substitute in City's FA Cup fourth round tie against Swindon Town and has performed impressively for the Club's reserves in recent weeks.

He joins up with fellow City youngster Cian Bolger, who has been on loan with Rovers since the start of the season, and could make his debut this Saturday when the Gas host Morecambe in npower League 2.

Is there not a Loan prefix rather a Transfer one so we do not think he is gone for good before we read the thread?

You can't sign players on season long loans outside of the window, just emergency loan.

They are, in a couple of years.
Then there will be no loans outside the transfer windows and clubs with small squads will suffer, and young players at clubs with big squads will have less chance of playing competitive football.

I suppose it could stop big clubs speculating on 15 or 16 year old players if they know they can't loan them out as easily... might give youngsters at a bit of time to develop at smaller clubs. Wishful thinking on my behalf probably.
