Has anyone got it? From what I can read on the TomTom website you need to connect it through your phones GPRS, which seems a ridiculous and potentially expensive method. With my colleagues Garmin he got an antennae that plugs into the unit and receives traffic signals, no cost, no phone. Does TomTom have anything similar?

Basically I want traffic updates but don't want any ongoing costs (yearly subscription aside).

My cars sat nav gets its traffic info via some service broadcast via fm radio.

How do you find the reception/quality on yours Durham? They will all pull off the same RDS feeds so won't be much different between them, but I wondered if stations send out info continuously or at intervals? So for instance if they send out an update at 8.00am and i get into my car at 8.05 will I know about it then or have to wait for say the 8.30 update? You can pick them up for £20 on ebay but don't want to spend it if the service is a bit pants.

Its continous as far as I can make out, one of the cars radio tuners is constantly tuned to the service when in Nav mode.
