can anyone tell me how many teams top in the 3rd tier of football at xmas have failed to get automatic promotion?,the only one i can think of was forest a couple of seasons ago.
The only way we'll be able to go back into the championship with our heads held high is if:
we get over 100 points,
Mandaric reignites his financial enthusiasm for getting us into the prem.
Forest get relegated,
Leeds don't get promoted
&
Matty Fryatt gets 40 goals.
...or leeds who now yo yo betwen champ and league one rather than prem and championship.
What kind of yo-yos did you play with when you were a kid?
I think we need to know how many points are needed to get promotion - either 1st or 2nd place. I'm guessing it's around 90-92 points.
What an odd thing to say. There is no definitive number of points that is needed for promotion. All that is needed is that we get more points than 22 other clubs in the division.
At this moment, the most points that both MKDons and Millwall can get is 116. We therefore need to get 117 points (or 116 points with a superior goal difference to either one of them) to ensure promotion.
The briefest of reviews of previous years tables however will show you that it will be quite an exceptional year if a club needs as many as 90-92 points to ensure automatic promotion.
I lent my tardis to a mate. He's a gay. He uses it for cottaging.
A tardis is renowned for being far bigger inside than it appears on the outside.
Is there any relevance there at all?
I find it strange that you seemingly only concentrate on the last three sentences. :icon_conf

We're the three word gang. three sentences was pretty impressive.
A simple rule of thumb that works most seasons in this league and the next one up:
Average one point per game and you will probably be relegated.
Average two points per game and you will probably get automatic promotion.
