I don't want to put a damper on a wonderful occasion but from my point of view Monday was a mess.

We were told that the bus would arrive at Town Hall Square at 2.30. I turned up at 2.00 and was prevented from getting into the square by some surly security men. They seemed reluctant to explain why the square was closed but finally said "It is full that's why". There was a gentleman at the same time who had two children inside the barrier while he was outside. How this had happened I don't know nor do I know the conclusion as when I left he was becoming increasingly agitated and they were increasingly unresponsive.

Of course the majority of members of the forum being athletic and in their prime will say that I should have got there earlier. However, those of us of a later vintage are wary of long periods of standing.

In hindsight Town Hall Square was never going to be anywhere near big enough for the numbers involved. I hope next years celebrations whether for winning the Premier League or for our inevitable cup triumphs will take place somewhere with a bigger capacity.

Oh David you do make me laugh. :icon_lol:

I particularly liked how they decided to hold it on a stage that nobody could see unless you were in the front 5 rows of people.

An exceptional bit of planning.

Was always doomed to be hopeless

Could say the same thing about the trophy presentation on Saturday - half an hour of photos and nonsense in the middle which no one could see, with not even any celebratory music and then we wait for another ten minutes so all the families and hangers on could amble round the pitch very slowly, with the trophy itself passed around almost as an afterthought.

The fans wanted the players and coaching staff to parade round together properly with the trophy, to celebrate with them and simply get some photos

No wonder they all got fed up and ran onto the pitch by the time they eventually made it to the Family Stand

Got a bit of inside track on this. Soulsby insisted on the Town Hall Square despite other options including the Haymarket Balcony being offered to him. Also the balcony wasn't considered structurally sound for more than six or so people, so they set up the stage instead.

Like Homer I thought the presentation was a damp squib. No atmosphere, delays, no actual sight of the trophy. The second invasion eventually saved the day with the opportunity for kids to have memories and pics they will remember.

The obvious question Hazzmo is, what the **** has it got to do with that loathsome parasite? Could they not have told him to get ****ed?

More importantly I would love to know why that smarmy Twat Vaz was there on the balcony, utterly cretinous wanker that he is.

After the players arrival there was a 30 minute wait whilst these 2 slime balls got their time with the players in the Town Hall.

Another ****wit of the highest order

Of course. Soulsby was so busy....he met the structural engineer and the surveyor and asked them about the balcony at TH.

You know wasting tax payers ****ing about with something he knows naff all about and could hand over anyone else to do.

Soulsby is too busy pissing money up the wall on Jubilee Square, which wont be (partially) ready until August, a whole year after it started...
