Tunch Is The Best Of The Bunch
October Awards
Aleksandar Tunchev claimed his second player of the month award in as many months after his performances drew the highest ratings from fans over the course of October. In a month that saw City win just once, Tunchev was the only player who achieved an average in excess of six with fellow defender Kerrea Gilbert finishing runner up and captain Matt Oakley rounding off the top three.
At the bottom end of the scale, right winger Max Gradel was lumped with the dreaded flop of the month title for the second month running after a series of poor performances from the Ivorian. Much debated keeper David Martin finished closely behind Gradel, with fan's favourite Andy King making up the bottom three of players who were eligible for the awards.
It was a poor month overall for the City players as only three individual performances throughout the entire month were deemed worthy of a mark in excess of seven, with striker Steve Howard's performance 'wowing' the fans the most with his bullish display at Oldham.
The centre midfield pairing achieved very different levels of consistency with captain Matt Oakley having the most consistent marks throughout the month, and Andy King being the most erratic.
Perhaps the most notable statistic this month is that the overall team rating decreased every match this month culminated in the worst team performance of the season away to at Brighton. No doubt that November is a crucial month for City and the dip needs to end fingers crossed starting at home to Bristol Rovers tomorrow.
