There are rumours on the rivals board that make unpleasant reading. :icon_eek:  :icon_sad:

There are several rumours about but nothing concrete...one theme seems to be that CL is unsettled and may want out. Does anyone know about his family life, have they moved to Leic or are they still in Edinburgh. Other rumours doing the rounds today are that we are looking for a couple of experienced players (one central defender) on loan and that Man Utd or Celtic are about to take Sheehan to aid our financial situation which seems to have got considerably worse. I wondered with him being excluded at Cardiff.

Only rumours though but I expect a lot of scouts took note of Sheehan's performance for RoI U21's

Eh, it's crap I bet. Is that another of those Press Association rumours? Personally I don't believe it. For one, we can't sell Sheehan at the minute anyway because the transfer window is closed. If we were to get a good fee and sell on clause for him, I wouldn't be too upset. It's inevitable that some of good players will be sold.

Why has our financial situation got worse? We've just got £2m for Connolly (although spent £800,000 or so of that)

Levein being unsettled could be true, but hopefully not.

may be the reason why Sheehan was given a suprise start against sheff weds considering Cl has preferred to switch maybury to the left rather than try anything else on the left.

They are only rumours after all. ;)

Depressingly Steven, I don't particularly care about any of it at the moment, I'm going to Wolves Saturday expecting a sound beating...Whatever really.

One of the reasons given by Hearts fans for him leaving them was to get away from his pirvate life up there.

he's back with his missus though now isn't he??

all happy and loved-up again apparently.

That'll be the bird at the game last night then. Hmmmm makes some sense then.

i somehow doubt man u want sheehan

Too right - ludicrous rumour IMO.

As far as the financial position is concerned tho' I wouldn't be surprised if there is a worsening situation - given the lower than budgeted gates and the probability of a pretty ordinary season ahead plus who believes that we got £2m for DC? How much of this went to his agent etc?

There was an interesting (by their standards) discussion on Radio 5 this morning on the causes for the general downward trend in attendances. Basically supporters aren't mugs except when their team is on a winning run - when emotion prevails. Otherwise they recognise bad value for money & match tickets in the Premiership & Championship when taking into account the full costs of going to a game are not good value.

Ticket prices are a joke. I think someone mentioned it before that £30 for 90 minutes of entertainment is crazy, especially if you are coming away dissapointed.

Isn't it over £50 for a Chelsea ticket, simply ridiculous. No wonder they aren't filling the ground for games.

Yes - £48.50 plus £1.50 booking fee. Monstrous.

Also of course there is concern that that the 4-5-1 system being increasingly used in the prem is too effective defensively and therefore a big turn off. Coaches saw what Greece could achieve by better defensive arrangements and decided that they would pick up more points that way. Discussion was along the lines of if Chelsea take a 1-0 lead then the game is more or less over.

Finally!! - and just as a postscipt - the big clubs and the authorities have devalued the Carling Cup, the FA Cup and the EUFA Cup - so there is only the Premiership title & the relegation battle that has any meaning.
