Why is U23 football utterly impossible to watch without slipping into a coma?

Why can't they play like it matters? These matches do not prepare anyone for first team football.

Because there is nothing on the game, no consequences to the results
 
says they are playing at the KP, they normally play at Holmes Park wonder why the change
 
They have to play a certain number of matches per season at the stadium. I think it's one of the league's rules. There's always a few at the KP every season.
oh right, only knew FA youth Cup matches must be played there
 
From the rules:

Each club must host at least three league matches at their main stadium during the course of the season. This helps to enhance the matchday experience for the players and fans.

Member clubs' training grounds or Academy venues will be permitted for the staging of up to three home matches over the course of the league season.
