For the last 5 years I've watched my friend's lad play in a junior League. About 3 seasons ago their best player joined the Chelsea Academy. He's just been released. The feeling is that the academy had 3/4 prospects but needed a squad of make weights to fulfil their fixtures. Perhaps our academy still have to do this.
