Got MS Office Home and Student 2010 installed and have got MS Office Professional 2010 on order.

Is it best to uninstall the current version first or can Professional just be installed over the top?

Confusing me because it isn't really a (dated) version upgrade.

Thanks.

My experience of an earlier version was that Professional installed 'alongside' the Student version, rather than on top of it. There was no point in having both so I uninstalled the Student version after checking that files created on it would open properly in the Professional version.

The installer should just recognise you have certain elements of Office installed already and just add the missing programs.

That is of course unless the home/student product has cut down versions of word/excel etc??

Yep - and upgraded the license type too. Nice :icon_bigg
