I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in my frustration at sites such as Viagogo, Seatwave, GetMeIn and ticketmaster resale.

Frequently I've missed out on tickets in the original sale only to see online touts ripping people off. They have no intention on going to the gig. The just want to make money on the resale on these tout sites.

It's bad for the bands, the venues, the average punter and music in general.

Seeing venues and events cancelling tickets resold on Viagogo is a excellent development. Hopefully the whole malpractice will be eradicated totally in the near future.

As a frequent concert goer I say amen to that. Iron Maiden have the right idea, ticketless sales where you need to produce the card the tickets were bought on upon entry. Downside then though is that some people like me like to keep the ticket stubs from past shows as a memento which isn't the same when it's ticketless..
