Foxes legend Matt Elliott will host the inaugural "Matt Elliott Football Tournaments" at Walkers Stadium on Sunday 23rd May 2010. There will be a mini-soccer tournament in the morning for kids and in the afternoon there will be a 5-a-side tournament for adults based on the rules for small sided soccer. Each team will have a minimum of 1 hour's pitch playing time.

The price for the kids event is £45 +vat per person. A visit to the dressing rooms is all part of the day and the teams will line up in the tunnel at the beginning of the tournament. The players will have their names announced over the stadium's P.A. system as they emerge from the tunnel and walk across the pitch. There will be separate tournaments for U7's,U8's,U9's,U10's,U11's & U12's and there will be trophies for the winners/runners-up of each competition (older age groups only - medals for all players in the U7's & U8's events in line with F.A. rules). Matt will do the presentations and there will be certificates, signed by Matt, for all participants.

The price for the adults event is £71.42 +vat per person (based on a squad of 7 players) and the price includes the post-tournament function (inc buffet) in the Sports Bar where Matt will present the trophies etc to the winners/runners-up.

The tournaments are being arranged independently of Leicester City FC but the club will soon be advertising the events on their website and in a forthcoming matchday programme.

Please PM me if you are interested or would like further details. Thank you.

Who makes the money out of this?

Understandably, I am not permitted to put a link to our company on the forum but we hire stadiums from clubs, which is an expensive thing to do, and our aim is to provide ordinary fans/players with an opportunity which they may not otherwise get. I totally accept that it is not cheap but I feel the experience is as cheap as I am able to make it and individuals will decide whether or not they feel the price represents value for money.

We have staged similar events at West Ham, Norwich & Southampton with great success and are hoping that next year's event at Walkers Stadium will be a similar success. All I can do is refer people interested to the Testimonials section of our website to read what people have thought of the experiences and then take a view on whether they think it is worth the price.

We also take the opportunity to raise money for charity at these events and so far we have raised over £14,000.

If I spend £70 on a kick about before the wedding and honeymoon are paid for I will be castrated. For that reason, I'm out.

Is this designed to be an answer to my question?

I think it does answer your question Bocadillo but if you are asking the question does my business make money from organising these events then the answer is I hope so because otherwise I won't be a business for very long. What my company aims to do is make these experiences as affordable as possible.

It didn't answer the question, but you have now - and I thank you for that.

Can you be any more specific about the £14,000 that you have raised for charity? You suggest checking out the testimonials section of your website, but that is rather difficult when there is no indication where to find it.

I am not permitted to post a link to my website Bocadillo but so far we have raised the following amounts :

Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital - £10,802
Willow Foundation - £ 2,500
Helen Rollason Heal Cancer - £ 500
Wessex Cancer Trust - £ 425

If you would like to PM me I will be happy to give you my website address so you can see the Testimonials.
