Seems MM took Walshie's managerial credentials as seriously as most of us did:

From his Mercury column:
First of all, I have a sense of disappointment that I haven't received any form of contact from Milan Mandaric regarding my own interest in the job.

Thinking about it, I wonder if he actually made any attempt to contact MM or just presumed that he would hear him applying for it on live radio....

I love Walshie as a player and a LCFC legend but he needs to give up on this whole Leicester manager crap. You will never receive any form of contact whenever you apply for the job if there is someone sensible running our club. Stick to running golf tours in Spain Walshie...

Have to agree with most of what has been said on here. I love Walshie: I'll never forget the play off final against Derby in particular but, it is almost disrespectful to expect a Championship side to take on a manager who, has been out of the game for several years and hasn't bothered to get his badges.
Anybody on this board fulfills the 'love Leicester' criteria.

Oi, Walshie!!

Your CV went straight in the bin, it happens all day every day. Especially if it goes:

Dear Milan,

My name is Steve Walsh, 'nuff said.

Never did southgate any harm.

I love Walshy, clearly still has an affection for the club and really is one of us now, not just a past legend, but if he really wants to get into the position of managing us, he needs to start working towards that now - pick up his badges, gain management experience witha smaller club and just try and work his way up - who knows someday if he does it we might end up knocking on his door or he might be in a viable position to apply for the job and be given serious thought..

it's like if he was looking for a manager to run his golfing tours, I could apply with no experience what-so-ever and no necessary qualifications of any kind and would he give me the job? Would he balls....

i loved walshy as a player, and i dont mind him as a pundit on the local radio, he would make a great replacement for the birch when he goes but as a manager or anybody who has a say in team selection or training then im sorry but NO! leave to the people who have bothered to get the relevant coaching badges walshy and stop making a fool of yourself.

Now IH is in place and we can forget all talk of new managers I wonder if Walshy will finally stop talking about what a good manager he could be and go out and start to prove it.

If he is serious all he has to do is complete his UEFA badges and get himself a coach or management position at a smaller club where he can prove he has the potential to succeed at a higher level.
