What do the stats say?

"...it gives you a more realistic view on your performance”... than your own eyes having sat there and watched it?

This **** gets absolutely soaked when it pisses down of rain but he has to check the weather on his phone before putting his umbrella up.

Some PL stats this season.

From the BBC report:

Had Vardy been fit throughout, the Foxes might have challenged for the European places again - they collected 41 points from a possible 72 with him in the side and just 11 from 42 when he was absent.

Clearly VAR decisions made a significant difference to teams on Champions and Europa League places as well as the PL relegation standings.

Well, I guess it's how you decipher the numbers. Our transfer debt has decreased over 4 years but (perhaps) due to investments off the pitch (training ground and stadium expansion) we have had to borrow more)?

Perhaps some of it is due to the month in which the reports are run?

Dunno, playing devil's advocate.

Depends on who you owe it to and what their view of it is, I guess. I understand a lot of it is PR, but several of the apparent financial decisions we made under covid conditions appeared to be not money driven, which makes me think they're not that worried about it, but hey, what do I know :102:

**** all, in reality.

The debt isn't so much of an issue, the wage to turnover ratio is the one to worry about as on the last figures, we were the only team in the PL over 100%.

I believe that was due to covid accounting changes though so it would be interesting to see what it is now.

Simply put, we don't have the fan base and revenue to challenge the top 4 however much people think we have a devine right to.

Divine.

Agreed

An interesting thread, but this post in particular puts it into context.

I'm sure I have seen much larger external loans referenced in relation to us in the past.

We seemed to be taking out whopper loans 6 monthly with that Aussie bank

I don't try and predict home much debt LCFC will get into, but for my own amusement I draw up a table of our fixtures then guess the result and score for each match. I do it once at the beginning of the season – it takes no account of the changing form of teams throughout the season.

For the 2021/22 season I only managed to get the result right 42% of the time (I was clearly too optimistic) with only 6 correct scores and 5 of those were ‘Away’ matches. The only home match I correctly guessed the score was Newcastle (4 – 0). Just as well I’m not a betting man.
