What ever happened to Carsley?

We were linked with him but instead ended up with Gemmill. So I guess my question to anyone who has a clue is what happened to that deal...if it ever existed? :|

We also got Joey Gudjonsson...a much better signing IMO.

Carsley played for and scored for Everton vs Arsenal in their 4-1 defeat, so maybe they never wanted to sell him.

I'm not so sure, Gudjonsson didn't get many games for wolves last year whereas Carsley was ever present for Everton. Also think he would of been a good MA signing because he works very hard.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging Gudjonsson...just haven't seen him play much!

Joey's a lot younger too, nice to have a few players with a fair few years ahead of them in our squad

From what I saw of him at Villa he's very combative and has a cracking shot as well as working hard and being able to pass well. Should be great (fingers crossed!).
