I would imagine Micky may revert to a 5 man midfield vs Liverpool. I think Scimeca will be drated back in to play in that anchor role with Muzzy and Nalis just ahead of him.

I think Impey will be on the right in place of Hignett. Impey provides defensive cover down the right. I think this would be a wise move as Hignett and Gillespie are not the type of players to play on thw wing away from home.

I think Scowie will start left and will attempt to support Dickov upfront when he can.

The back four would be the same as Leeds. Frank will deal with Owen because of his pace - And at least Frank has some!

Gerry will take on Heskey.

This is what I think the team will be:

Walker

Curtis Sinclair Taggart Thatcher

Scimeca

Impey Nalis Izzet Scowcroft

Dickov

It has to be 4-4-2 because with the threat of Kewell down the right or left means we are going to need full backs.

With 4-5-1, you still get the full backs.

Nothing has changed except sacrificing a striker - In the case Bent dropping down to the bench. We have one extra mifielder in Scimeca acting as a link between defence and midfield.

Give Dickov 70 minutes to close the Liverpool defence down and then bring on Bent to cause them problems!

Scowcroft u must be mad mate if you think that Adams will leave Bent out, your a crazy, crazy man!!

I cant believe you've just put that, absolutely ludicrous. I'm lost for words for the first time in my life.

We are playing away from home Malf! We need to frustrate Liverpool by sticking 5 in midfield. Liverpool still lack that creativity and will find it extremely difficult to break us down.

Micky said that he will be playing 5 in midfield for away games. I think it makes sense.

Bent had an excellent game vs Leeds, but Micky aint afraid to drop him for Liverpool. He needs think tactically and I think he will do this.

Unless Micky will go gung ho and Just stick Scowie, Bent and Dickov upfront!

If anything drop Dickov in to midfield, and Bent being the lone man up front!! Were obviously gonna play long ball and we will need a big man up front and Bent is spot on in the air so it's got to be him playing.

We have Scowie on the left who will join up to support Dickov like he did vs Chelsea. Scowie will cut in from the left wing to do this.

We could drop Dickov in to midfield on the right I suppose - He can take out Kewell!

I'm not sure Micky would play Dickov on the right though.

But regardless of that, I think Micky will play a 5 man midifield simply to frustrate Liverpool.

I think it depends on your feel for the game and how confident you are.

4-5-1 would say to me that we are more respectful of them than perhaps we need to be and not that confident.

4-4-2 would say to me that we give them proper respect and back ourselves to be confident enough facing Liverpool.

Either way the right formation is the one that does not disappoint the players.

i have never been a subscriber to changing your team or formation because of the opposition. play your best side in the formation that they are used to.

that is how "sir" brian won all those trophies. he always maintained that you should let the opposition change for you, not you for them.

Thought you didn't harp on about the old days Marlon, or was that for yesterdays argument?

On a previous topic - written yesterday:

when have i mentioned cloughie ? opposition fans bring up our past more than forest fans ever do.

Oh dear oh dear. Why am I a twat - cause I am right?

i was making a valid point, simply saying how i believe you should play your normal formation.

you chose to make the smary comments, that makes you a twat. :)

I can see that arguement but I don't agree with it. I think a side should be able to adapt to different situations and formations. It is Liverpools inability to adapt to a siuation where they are in charge of the match and they have to break down th eopposition that would make me change our formation. They have beenb frustrated at home before with their rigid tactis and predictavble play and are vulnreble to a simular performance.

So even though Micky has said he is likely to play 5 in midfield away from home, you believe he will stick to the 4-4-2?

I think it will be

Code:
                                 Walker

             Howey Taggart Thatcher

Sinclair Stewart

             Nalis Izzet Scimeca

                    Dickov Bent

SUBS - Coyne, Heath, Scowcroft, Ferdinand, Impey

Is Rogers out for 3 games then because of his straight red card vs Chelsea?

I would imagine if Micky is playing 3-5-2, then Rogers would be selected over Stewart if available.

Can't see Micky risking Howey and Taggart both in the same defence with Owen and Heskey playing upfront!

i thought gillespie was back surely he will be on the bench at least

I think Hignett may keep his place. If not, Micky may play Impey on the right as he is more defensively minded than Gillespie.

Absolutely right. As close to the same team against Leeds we should play. They have earnt their right, and if they do shit then they're dropped, and they know it because we actually HAVE some quality in depth.
