By general consensus our club should be skint. many thought we couldn't afford to sack levein, and yet we did. many also thought we couldn't afford a manager from another club, and yet we have made an approach for one.

Also, before the southampton match on Radio Leicester they talked again about the ground share plan. if i recall correctly this would involve us buying the ground between us (Something like £16 million was mentioned when the deal was considered) where would that money come from?

I got to thinking from the name of one of our newest members 'weneedanabramovic'.

maybe we already have one?

Probably the extra Connolly money that's paying for that.

They'd get a mortgage to buy the stadium.

That Connolly money seems to pay for an awful lot!!

Seeing that we would not see that until the end of the season.

can't we get a mortgage anyway?

i don't suppose we would at the moment, since RL said we were not paying anything for the stadium at the moment, because the club wasn't making enough money. but that it was costing us more in the long run because payments were deferred.

Well the total fee for Connolly is £3 million (less what West Ham will get), how much of that do you think we've spent on Hume Hammond and Fryatt?
Less than £1.5 million for sure, so there's still some left, unless the rest has gone in reduced gate receipts.
Even though we haven't had the final payment yet that doesn't mean we can't start spending it.

C'mon its the oldest trick in the book. I tell the missus the same thing all the time. last year i sold a car on for a couple of hundred quid, and believe me that 200 quid stretched beyond belief.

"i'm going out with the lads"

"on what ****in money?!?"

".... the car remember"

CHING CHING - Pass Out

I'll be very surprised if we're not paying anything!

I think what's happening is we're not paying off any of the capital, so we're getting no closer to owning it, but we're still effectively paying rent for it.

From what RL said we are paying nothing at the moment, but what we should be paying (rent?) is being stored up for when we are earning more, so it is costing us more in the long run.

however i would be surprised if teachers didn't demand something, particularly after getting £2 million for connolly (pottentially 3)

i was thinking the same about the "connolly money", i dont beleive for a second that we have any left, not much anyway, and feriol, trust me mate, we havnt got ourselves an abramovich, we'd know about it if we did.

Webbo is correct & RL wrong on this one.

We are paying but will make no inroads into the debt (so just cover interest) hence we will never own the ground if we stay in the Championship or worse

I see a new fanzine on the horizon - the anti-'Where's the Money Gone?' :icon_lol:
