Not sure what funds will be given to CL to try and improve things, but if he was given £2 million how do you think he should spend it. CL was quoted in the papers this morning that he thinks a striker could make all the difference. IMO it needs more than that. So whats the answer? bring in 3 or 4 players, or lump it on one decent quality striker?

I think with £2 mill he should buy a Mclaren F1 and get back up the A1 as quick as poss

Doubt he will get anywhere near 2 million. I thought he would get a million but many think it is less than that.

However we do need more than just a striker and I think loanees are the way to go. A defender and a goalie would be nice IMO.

My point is 1 player or 3 or 4. Obviously we don't know the funds he will get:102: so the figure quoted is hypothetical.:) I'm just interested in whether it should be quality or quantity.

Both please!;) :icon_lol:

I have no idea about Fryatt, and in my opinion if we expect him to save us it is heaping too much on young shoulders! We need another striker with more experience, and we need to ship out some of the dead wood.

I would look to offload tiatto and hammond for sure.

He wont get rid of Hammond, Mr CL doesnt like admiting failure.

So why did he get rid of Gilbert?

Some people are so blinkered they can't see the obvious :icon_roll
Fair enough I apologise. Still think he is somewhat bloody minded when it comes to his favourites.

Anyways webbo dont you think he had a fall out with Gilbert rather than him just not being good enough. He was good enough for plymouth in this league so why not us? He hardly had enough first team action to be assessed by IMO.

He wont get rid of Hammond and admit that he isnt the goal scorer we required at the time. Hammond on the wing is a better option and one we may see more now Sylla has gone off. Hammond is not that bad a player IMO. He can do a job for us, just not sure if it is a striker.

Come on.... I saw most of his games for us and he was dreadful, good luck to Shef Wed with him.
When we get another forward in I am sure Hammond will not play as much

I'd go for one quality striker to play with Hume upfront. Hammond to play wide on right, as agree with most he is not a striker. He has no composure in front of goal and just hits it when one on one. That is not what a striker should do IMO when left with the keeper to beat.

I would bring in 3 or 4 new faces as I feel the balance of the squad isnt right, bring in Fryatt and possibly another experienced striker on loan, we need a left back and a right winger and possibly a dominant central midfielder.

If he had 2 mil to spend which I doubt, (probably 1/2 mil) One quality striker and build a team around that striker,
Buying another handfull of hopefulls is not going to do anyone any good.

A striker should be 1st priority but IMO we badly need a general in the middle of the park. I feel that we could do with a been there got the t-shirt character to help and encourage the younger players. At the moment every time we fall behind it feels like game over, and for that reason an old experienced pro could be very important to the cause.

I think the Gilbert & Hammond cases are quite different.

In the case of Hammond, he brought him in on loan - had an opportunity to see what he was like - and then poured a couple of hundred thousand pounds down the drain.

The obvious is that Levein is a hopeless manager for Leicester City..who I am completely confident will not not achieve anything significant towards restoring the club to meeting reasonable aspirations.

I don't think Hammond is a failure. He's bright, fast and without the weight of pressure on him I reckon will prove to be a good signing for the club. However, I'm always perplexed as to why we signed him when we did tbh, unless another side were sniffing around after we sold Connolly?

first off giving craig 2 mill is dumb but with that out of the way I will move on.

I agree with brauny we defenitly need more then 1 player to make a change especially if joey leaves. I will assume joey is on his way out and would say we need the following.

A proven goalscorer.
A leader in midfield.
A goalkeeper (if henderson isnt good enough for 1st team)
Left back
Right winger.
2nd striker

Of course we wont get all this the money isnt there unless there is a lot moving the other way which would then leave other holes in the team.

Today they proved me wrong. Well done to CL and the boys. We must now get something from the Sheff W game, this is a huge game in our season.
