Perhaps now " Our Friend" now realises why CL did not wish to deal with the Lithuanian " banker ".:icon_lol:

"Our Friend" has put himself up there to be shot down, but to be fair Hearts fans have come on here and joined in and it has been good to have them (IANGWOC) giving us their views on CL. I feel sorry for them at the moment, last week they were top of the league and looking rosey and look at the sh*t they are in now. We all know what it is like when you do not know what your club is going to throw at you next.

Forgot to say, CL must have had a crystal ball though because I remember when he joined he mentioned alot of concern for Hearts future.

IANGWOC means In A Non Gay Way Of Course. It always has done. Since the year dot.

What does the panel think?

Is it good for the game to have our football clubs bought by either super-rich individuals or 'consortiums'. On the plus side it does mean the club gets an influx of cash, can buy better players, perhaps improve divsion or at least a better position.

On the downside, will these people have the best interests of the club at heart in the long term?

Would we want a foreign 'megabucks' benefactor to take over at Leicester? What if he gave CL £30 million to spend?

Hmmm.

I'm happier the way we are at the moment, not exactly flush with money, but run by Leicester fans with the long term future of the club at heart. Rather that than some fly be night. Remember, the Lithuanian " banker " has only financed one purchase, I believe, all the rest are on loan.

i enjoyed seeing hearts above rangers in the league, now that fairytale may be dead and buried (depending on who they get as replacement) it does pave the way for my beloved hibernian to take control of the league once everyone at celtic realises he is such a knob

Good summary of the issue
- how long term are these benefactors going to indulge with their latest toy?

One option would be enjoy the ride with a benefactor, as long as there is a local group of fans willing to pick up the pieces afterwards. Trouble is they would be left with a massive wage bill (which is what happened before & we are still suffering the consequences).

The Trust model is exactly the opposite of this approach.

However we would consult members if faced with this option

Feel a bit sorry for the decent Hearts fans that came on here, like Youngscot etc,but the others have done far too much piss taking of us for me to feel any sympathy.

I have a soft sport for Hibs too - but my reasons are a little different. When I was 8 or 9 I was looking at a book of football stats and noticed that Celtic and Rangers always won everything, and Hibs often ended up as beaten cup finalists, or finished 2nd or 3rd in the league, so I felt sorry for them. And I liked their shirts.
