From the official county site:
Leicestershire County Cricket Club is delighted to announce the coaching arrangements at Grace Road for the coming 2011 season.
Head Coach and Academy Director Phil Whitticase will be in charge of the First XI and High Performance Coach Lloyd Tennant will be in charge of the Second XI.
Phil and Lloyd will run the Leicestershire Academy and High Performance Coach Russell Cobb will be responsible for the Emerging Players Programme and the player pathway through to the Academy.
Chief Executive Mike Siddall said: “In view of the current financial situation the Board has decided not to advertise for a Senior Coach and will look to its excellent existing resources to provide support for the players next season.
“The Club has three top quality Level four coaches who complement each other well. The arrangement has the full support of the Cricket Group which includes Chairman Paul Haywood and Club Captain Matthew Hoggard.â€
The latest development at Grace Road comes following the news that Jacques du Toit, Will Jefferson, Paul Nixon and Nadeem Malik have all signed new contracts for the 2011 season. Andrew McDonald will continue in his role as overseas player in 2011.
Meanwhile, the Foxes have been drawn in Group B for the CB40 competition next season.
There are some attractive home fixtures in prospect against holders Warwickshire and top counties Durham and Hampshire, Surrey, Scotland and Northamptonshire.
Very uninspiring stuff.
Wasn't good enough for the job when he had it before - can't see it being any different this time around.
So much for the return of Phil Simmons.
I suppose if they can't afford a new coach then the club are left with little choice. Wonder what Boons salary will be spent on? Maybe it will be withheld to offset the obvious financial deficits at the county.
