So most of you guys get to see more Leicester matches than me, now that I live in Wales, so who do you think from our current crop of youngsters will make it into the bigtime? Perhaps eventually sign for a top 10 premier league or play for us when we get there...

From what I have seen & heard of Matt Heath he would be the one, but I've noticed he does make some bad mistakes at times.

Stewart in my opinion could be alot better, but I think he is one of them players that eventually fades away because he always seems to be lacking something.

Wright looked great towards the end of the season when we went up under MA, but has already started to drift.

What about Stearman? Levi Porter? Dawson? Dodds? O'Grady? Wesloski? Logan?

We could do with abit of luck & bring through a rrreal gem like Heskey, Joachim or Kitson. Since MO left we havn't had anyone like this.

Do you mean Paul Kitson? :?

As for the person I think will make it big time, I think Richard Stearman will, I would even go as far as to say that I think he'll become as good as John Terry or Rio Ferdinand. Provided that he carries on developing of course.

have seen nothing of stearman so wouldnt know

stewart has so far not lived up to the potential he showed when he 1st got in the side a couple of seasons ago, it seems to be a confidence thing, he hardly ever tries to beat players which is a pity cos hes fast and IMO has some decent ball skills if flashes of brilliance last time round in DIV 1 are anything to go by

Heath - distribution needs to be better but is a decent championship standard centre back, remains to be seen if he could cut it at a higher level but has a couple of great players to learn his trade from.

as for dawson, wesolowski, porter etc etc i again havent seen them so wouldnt know but with leveins comment that the 1st team was lacking young homegrown players in particular if any are good enough you would expect them to start getting a chance.

So why doesn't anybody have sufficient faith in Stearman to put him in the team?

Didn't Petrescu leave because he wasn't given real opportunity?
You've got to show belief in young people with genuine ability - they are in it for games not wages at that stage of their careers - and I cannot see anything in City's defence that truly justifies holding him back.

The temptation, of course, is always to play the senior men because you are paying them the senior wages.

How much ability has been lost on the back of the comment "Don't worry son, you'll get your chance soon". If they are good enough they're old enough just look at young Downey at Middlesbrough.

I saw Downing on TV last night he was excellent, never seen him play before.IMO if you are good enough you are old enough,I'd play the best players for the job regardless of age young or old.Heath and Stearman must be worth a chance, the older more expierienced are making plenty of mistakes and it is just a matter of when not if that we will conceed a penalty due to Dabizas.

CL, from his comments about youth, will give these players a chance IMO if he feels they are good enough and better than the 1st teamers. Even though he has only been in charge for one game it is clear that he knows his own mind and brought in players we did not expect to see (Canero, Morris)
If our youth are as good as all the hype we should be seeing a few some time soon 8)

To be fair I don't think Canero & Morris featuring had anything to do with giving youth a chance (MA would have played them if they were available) but it would still have been easy for CL to overlook them as they haven't played. So it's all positive so far :D

I seen Downing against Man Utd & in 1 of the european games. What a player, not fazed by nothing! Boro are pulling through YT's like no ones business.

Surely that is the way to go for us now. We here a few good things of these players at LCFC & their the right age now for breaking into the team, I just hope Levein will go that way. I wouldn't even mind if we don't go up for a couple of seasons, providing we will be alright financially.

I feel we have too many old players like Keown, Gemmill, Pressman, Makin, Blake, Wilcox that are fringe players which are taking our young talents chances. They have no chance of progressing unless they gain first team experience.

Oh yeah I meant Paul Kitson. Talking about Jordan Stewart & a confidence thing. Perhaps CL can get the best out of him like MO done with Heskey.

That's how I feel about the current situation. Look at the progress D*rby are Making from the sh*t they were in. I hate to say it but Burley is doing a good job there, credit to their directors for sticking with him.

Yeah Burley is doing a good job there.

He's also brought in quality players like Reich & Indiakez who can easily play in the Premierleague.

I reckon Canero will be a class player soon.

Micky Adams had apparently, before he resigned, identified a number of outstanding young prospects at the club who would form the nucleus of the side for many years, he could not believe the potential of some of these youngsters and singled out Martin Keown, Kevin Pressman, Jason Wilcox and Dion Dublin as youngsters who with a bit more experience could be right up there as greats of the championship for many years to come.

He was genuinely excited about all 4 of these youngsters outstanding potential and had hoped to work with them for many years to come and really hone there hoofball skills.
