Rob Kelly is out of a job, he's managed at this level before, a smashing bloke who really knows how to get the best out of his players. Get him in.

I was thinking about Les Reed if Rob Kelly turns it down!!!

Seriously though, Coleman tops my list!!!

Whoever the permanent manager is next season I hope Plymouth away is the first game of the season. If it's anywhere near the end of the season the guy's fcuked...

We might all be fukced if Worthington can't enliven our lot up and get a few more points - if he doesn't, we won't even be playing Plymouth next season.

coleman will be manager

Sven Goran Ericsson (sp?)? :102:

:-(

Got to say I really don't know what to think about today.I'm puzzled as to how Worthington is supposed to turn things around in 5 games. He has to work with the same rubbish that's been here all season, doesn't know the players, doesn't know how they play (or don't!) & has virtually no time.

My feeling was that Rob should've been given a chance. It would've been interesting to see what he would have been able to achieve when finally given some money in the summer. But we'll never know now.

As for after Worthington, well we'll have to see but i don't think (considering what's likely to be available) he'd be a bad appointment on a 1 year rolling contract. He did OK for a fair while at Norwich don't forget until they got relegated on the last day of the season & the money vanished as it always does for relegated clubs in the current climate.

Oh...& Chris Coleman? Well when i read that he'd got the boot at Fulham it crossed my mind he'd be on his way here come the summer & you know what?...I hope I'm wrong.
So far as I can see the bloke has no managerial ability whatsoever & should be sitting in a TV studio talking s**t with Lawrenson.
If you think about it he's Rob Kelly in reverse.Been given wheelbarrowloads of cash by Al Fayed & managed to achieve the square root of f**k all.Never won anything, never threatened to win anything, never even come close to being interesting. The only plus point for me is that i got 5/1 on Fulham going down at the start of the season & it's looking pretty good right now!

Out of work:
Kevin Keegan ;)
Chris Coleman
Brian Little :102:
Alex McLeish

In work but could possibly be tempted:
Gary Johnson?
Martin Allen?
Didn't we all want Dave Penney a few years ago?

Oh, and that Micky Adams bloke is out of work... No? Dave Bassett? :tumbleweed:

Actually I'm not sure any managers currently in work, that I think we could realistically get, I would want. Of the out of work ones... I can't help but love the Keegan idea but that is ridiculous...Coleman I'm not sure about, he's not managed in this division before... Little has been out of it for a while and they do say never go back...

Honestly no-one we could realistically get excites me, although that might be more to do with the depressing few years we've had - at the moment I'm finding it hard to imagine anyone actually making us into a good team.

I thought people in the know were saying that MM had agreed compo with Macclesfield for Ince.

It's a gamble, but so was Roy Keane.

Shows how much attention I pay to stuff. I was going through some old posts and completely forgot. Oh well.

Mark McGhee? ;)

I dont know why everyone thinks Coleman would be such a good appointment, he had one good season with Fulham. At times Fulham under him have looked about as useless as we did under Peter Taylor, failing to carve out any meaningful opportunities and looking to delay the inevitable of conceding.

Personally, I'd rather see Worthington on a full time basis than Coleman, but I'd still go for Newell, he did a good job with limited resources at Luton and had to cope with half the team being sold. Plus he'll feel like he has something to prove. Unfortunatley since Milan hasnt gone for him now I dont spose he will.

I'm not sure about Newell, complaining about selling players and having no money while taking a large percentage of transfer funds isn't the smartest thing to do.

As for Ince, what has he done to deserve it? Other than the fact that he's a 'name' I can't see the point in getting him. He's managing a side at the bottom of League Two for goodness sake.

Coleman by a mile, but he will have a job by the summer so I think it will unfortunately be Ince IF Worthington doesn't stay
