From the Merc:

"Leicester City have been inundated with enquiries for the vacant manager's post at the Walkers Stadium.

Caretaker-manager and director of football Dave Bassett has revealed that the position has attracted an overwhelming amount of interest following Micky Adams' departure on Monday.

The likes of Gary McAllister, Mike Newell and Steve Cotterill have emerged as the bookmakers' favourites for the job but, while Bassett refused to comment on the speculation, he did reiterate that the board of directors were in no rush to appoint Adams' successor.

He said: "The corpse wasn't even dead and the phone was going!

"A lot of names have come up, some of which have been quite amusing, but at the same time we will assess the situation before drawing up our shortlist.
"

Mr Fox, have you gone and applied again ???

That depends upon the "qualities" of the young lady in question

What???????

I thought that for a moment before understanding that it meant that the phone was ringing really quickly after the news was publicly released.

The corpse was then revived and offered the job as temporary first team coach.

Maybe he ment the corpses were dead meaning our defence and that the phones had been going about a year ago.

Even Bassett has reservations about the average age of our squad.
