Now Matty's signed whos favourite to be next?

Im sure CLwill be in talks with other targets even though theres 3 more weeks to finalise anymore deals

I hope so, but you can't be sure.

I think we need experience as well as the youth we have aquired in Fryatt! (hopefully if he ever finally signs).

how about a left back?

We do need a LB, but i wander if CL will keep Maybury there for now. Stearman played really well against Spurs so think he'll keep the RB spot.

Lennon is quality though and gives prem defenders a run for there money. I thought after a very dodgey beginning Maybury performed quite well, especially as he was already on a yellow.

i don't remember lennon running so much at maybs second half. lennon was subbed, perhaps he tired or something...

or perhaps he did do well. he just scared me, looked slow and on the wrong foot all the time

First half Lennon was very fast and tricky, I thought Maybury's booking was a bit harsh, the kid was just too fast and what was probably a fair attempt for the ball became a late trip. I was opposite side so may be wrong, but nevertheless when he ran at us in that first 30-40 minutes you could here the squeaks as 14,000 bum cheeks squeezed.

If you are right footed playing LB is always going to be difficult, you don't have the confidence to tackle or make passes with the wrong foot and you end up just belting it. fair play to Maybury, he stuck at it and kept trying even though he knew he was fecked for pace.

We need another natural left footer to play somewhere on the left, we are a bit unbalanced without one.

Fair point. To be honest though, lennon looked fantastic! The quickest winger I've seen for some time.

Balls Up on the first reply. I may have been away from England for twenty years but the first thing you learn is to kick with your right n left foot, haven't we learnt anything in twenty years?

Some players do learn to do that very well, most don't and Maybury has not.

yeah but you tackle with your lead leg and you can't sweep in with the right lead leg if someone is running at you from the left

you can train to use both feet to pass, but both to tackle when you're a right back, nah

lennon is english isn't he? if he is shawn wright-phillips can book his summer holiday

Good management too, playing Smith on that side offered much more protection in the second half.

Must agree with you Lennon was the most impresive player on the spurs side. Would you think they would do a swap for Sylla. I must stop dreaming/

agreed, after Maybs booking, I thought there was a big chance he would get done and get sent off, but fair play to CL, he made the changes early, and Smith offered a lot of protection for Maybs, not necessarily by back defending, but just by running with the ball everytime he gets it made Lennon more fearful of coming forward.

myproblem with Maybury is that he always gets drawn into the middle of the box when he's at left back, don't know if he is just forgetful and trying to make his way to RB?!?!? So many times he seemed to get caught away from his man, and it wasn't just Lennon, he's being doing it all season.

He was very poor against Palace I thought, no surprise that their goal eventually came down that side. I think a leftback and a midfielder should be added to the setup.
