Report on Radio Leicester before the phone-in last night estimated it could be £1.5m

Can inform u that we made a bid of 750,000 for him which trees turned down. They want somewhere near to 3 million.

Wouldnt be at all surprised to see the fee at over 1 million,and quite frankly wonder :-

A) Can we afford this? Doubt it very much
B) Is he worth it? Doubt it very much

It was 75k that we turned down, i.e. the first bid made by LCFC which Forest described as derisory. The £750k remark came from Joe Kinnear who tends to get a bit confused with numbers and obviously lost his decimal point!

I think £500k is pretty fair all round. He has seldom looked anything like a £1m player with the exception of a good run of form at the end of last season. He will improve and, although you may not believe it at the moment, that could yet prove to be a decent bit of business for you.

Williams isnt a bad player he just doesnt suit the crap football we play. The only time the ball comes through our midfield is when the opposition have have it!

We could play Lampard and Scholes in midfield and they would look crap because they arent ball winners and that all we need a midfield for!
